coffee tables oak

Oak coffee table coated in danish oil i think. Always sticky after its cleaned? what can I use?

I have tried plain soapy water, dry cloth, and wood polishes but after minutes the table goes quite sticky.

If it was mine I would try white spirit to see if it will remove the sticky residue, If this does’nt work, get some very fine steel wool, and rub back the surface. You could then polish with bees wax
